We urge all members to read the Safe Sport Framework documents on the NSW Swimming site

Any interaction between club members that is not of a positive or constructive nature – is not acceptable. It is not acceptable to intimidate, belittle or place members in threatening situations. This covers not just face to face situations, but also social media. We have all been made aware of the possible, sometimes fatal consequences that can occur through negative and harassing comments made on the various social media platforms.
If you don’t have something positive to say – then don’t say it, particularly in the public domain.
We don’t live in a perfect world and the reality is that at times issues and conflicts arise. If you have a conflict that cannot be resolved between the parties involved, you should be aware of the areas of responsibility that we work under.
- If the issue occurred during squad training, that should be reported to the coach, and it will the council’s responsibility as they run learn to swim and squad training.
- If there are issues that arise at a club event that is the clubs responsibility. These issues should be reported to the club executive via our MPIO officer (Judith).
- If you have an issue at a Carnival this should be reported to the Chief Referee or the Meet Director.
In summary – it is important to treat each other with both respect and sensitivity. Where conflicts arise, adopt a common sense approach to have it resolved.
